  1. On 28 February each year, National Science Day is celebrated to mark the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the Indian scientist and physician Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman or C.V. Raman on this day in 1928. In honour of India’s G20 leadership, the 2023 theme of National Science Day is “Global Science for Global Wellness”. 
  2. The Karnataka Government will build the country’s first Marina or a boat basin offering dockage, at Byndoor in Udupi district to promote coastal tourism in Karnataka. 
  3. India recently joined AIM4C (Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate) on the margins of the I2U2 Business Forum held in Abu Dhabi. 
  4. US President Joe Biden on 24 February 2023, nominated business executive Ajay Banga to become President of the World Bank. 
  5. Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta Platforms’ impending release to researchers of a new large language model called LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI). 
  6. The 19th annual Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Zone-3 conference, inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was held from 23-24 February, 2023 at Gangtok, Sikkim. 
  7. Union MoS Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh on 25 February 2023, inaugurated the ‘International Biotech Conclave’ in Imphal, Manipur.
  8. China on 23 February 2023, launched the communication satellite Zhongxing-26 on a Long March 3B rocket at a cost of 333 million USD.
  9. The 7th Annual Defence Dialogue between India and Sri Lanka was held on 23 February, 2023 in New Delhi.
  10. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will hold its Raising Day function in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh for the first time, a place that has been a hotbed of left-wing extremism. 
  11. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension in service of Defence Secretary Aramane Giridhar till October 2024.
  12. The 14th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav is being organised from 25 February to 5 March at Karni Singh Stadium in Bikaner, Rajasthan by the Union Ministry of Culture.
  13. Federal Bank has constructed a 100-KWp on-grid solar power plant, at its corporate headquarters in Aluva. Shyam Srinivasan, MD and CEO of the Federal Bank, inaugurated the solar facility.
  14. The Ministry of Tourism in association with Real Sports India organised the first Snow Marathon in Bhaderwah, Jammu on 26 February, 2023.
  15. According to HedgewithCrypto research, India emerged as 7th biggest nation ready to adopt crypto in 2023. Australia is the biggest country when it comes to the adoption of cryptocurrency in 2023 with a score of 7.37 out of 10.
  16. The former President of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and Oscar-winning producer, Walter Mirisch, passed away at the age of 101 on 25 February, 2023.
